Arriving in an ongoing emergency operation to undertake Information Management for the Cluster/sector can be daunting in the face of a myriad of information requests and competing priorities. Finding space to conduct an initial diagnostic will be critical to ensure focusing on the highest priority systems / functions with a clear idea of system / function requirements, and should be implemented over the first days upon arrival. The IM diagnosis tool provides an adaptable tool, with some common exploratory questions, to help identify areas and means of improvement to support the core coordination functions of the Cluster. It also suggests key stakeholders who should be considered during the diagnostic process. |
