Protection is not a cross cutting issues but a central aspect of the WASH response. This mean that it is crucial for partners to anticipate and avoid any negative impact of WASH activities on security of women or children. Major protection and WASH aspect have been described in the documents “WASH Minimum commitments for the safety and dignity of affected people”. Coordination platform role is responsible to remind partners about their commitment, develop guidance on best ways to address protection in WASH in the local context, and monitor their application in the response.
