What is it about?

Once the planned sector response budget has been estimated, it is the responsibility of the coordination platform to support the WASH sector resource mobilization. More and more WASH funds are going through centralized mechanism such as CERF and Country Based Pool Funds (CBPF) and disbursed through OCHA. The WASH coordination platform is involved in their allocation process, which facilitate both funding coordination and tracking. But most of WASH partners’ funding still comes from other funding sources, such as bilateral funding by donors or aid organizations’ internal funding sources, which can be a challenge in terms of coordination as they are not consulted or sometimes even informed of these funding. WCC must keep good relationship with both partners and donors to support properly the resources mobilization process.
