A WASH Humanitarian response can be defined by a combination of response inputs and outputs  outputs, as per the following diagram:  

To ensure a high quality response, the WASH Coordination platforms should:

  1. Ensure above-mentioned response inputs are adequate
  2. Guarantee the overall response quality monitoring, by monitoring the five above-mentioned response outputs 
  3. Ensure that quality issues are reported, and addressed adequately through improvement of the response inputs.

A humanitarian WASH response Quality Assurance System consists in the set up of mechanisms to guaranty the achievement of these three responsibilities.  :

Response input:   Map and develop capacities

Quality monitoring: set up targets and quality monitoring modalities

Improve quality: Monitoring, advocacy, capacity mapping and develpoment,
