The WASH Coordination platform is usually not directly in charge of collecting needs assessment data from affected population, except in the first phase of large sudden emergencies where an assessment specialist can be deployed for that purpose. The WASH coordination platform is responsible for the following tasks related to Primary Data Collection:

• Set up WASH assessment framework including core indicators

• Train partners on WASH assessment methodologies

• Coordinate Primary Data collection when necessary

• Foster Interagency/intersectoral assessment mechanism
