Protection issues and Accountability to Affected Population
Protection is not considered as a "cross cutting issues issue" but is a central aspect of the WASH response. This mean that it It is crucial for partners to anticipate and avoid any negative impact of WASH activities design and implement their WASH response in such a way that it has no negative impact on security of women or children. Major links between protection and WASH aspect activities have been described in the documents document “WASH Minimum commitments for the safety and dignity of affected people”. Coordination platform role is responsible to remind partners about their commitment, develop guidance , part of the 2012 GWC WASH and protection tool box. The SOF should include a specific chapter on protection and accountability providing guidance to partners on best ways to address protection in WASH in the local context, and monitor their application in the responsedefining how it will be monitored.
