What is it about?

Once the planned After estimating WASH sector response budget has been estimated, it is the responsibility of the coordination platform to support the WASH sector resource mobilizationmust ensure funds are mobilized to cover it. More and more emergency WASH funds are going through centralized mechanism mechanisms such as CERF and Country Based Pool Funds (CBPF) and disbursed through OCHA. The WASH coordination platform is involved in their allocation process, which facilitate both sector funding coordination and tracking. But most of many WASH partners’ funding still comes come from other funding sources, such as : bilateral funding by donors, or aid organizations’ internal funding sources, which can be a challenge in terms of coordination . Non-centralized funding represent a challenge for WASH sector coordinators as they are not consulted or sometimes even informed of these funding. WCC WASH sector coordinators must keep good relationship with both partners and donors to support properly the resources mobilization process and monitor if funds mobilization is sufficient and correspond to strategic priorities.

    profile of a crisis.
