It is one of the functions of the WASH Coordination platform to “inform the HC/HCT’s strategic decision-making”, by providing them a clear analysis and prioritization of WASH humanitarian needs. Even in the initial stage of an emergency, a large amount of secondary data is usually available, that can be collected and analysed by WCC. The WASH coordination platform can also be directly coordinating primary data collection, for instance after an L3 sudden onset emergency. In a more stabilized context or protracted emergencies, WCC must set up a system to get regular access to harmonized assessment data from partners covering all affected area and targeted groups, called a WASH Assessment Framework. It may be relevant to train partners on assessment framework or data collection methodologies. |
